A Samsung CP series feeder is a tape-and-reel feeder designed to supply surface-mount components to Samsung’s CP series of pick-and-place machines. The CP series machines were a significant part of Samsung’s SMT (Surface Mount Technology) equipment lineup before the division was sold and became Hanwha Techwin.

Features and operation

• Design for CP machines: CP feeders are specifically built for the Samsung CP series of pick-and-place machines, including models like the CP40, CP45, CP55, and CP60.
• Non-stop operation: Many CP feeders feature “non-stop” capability, which allows for the replenishment of component reels without interrupting machine production. This is a crucial feature for maximizing uptime and production efficiency.
• Feed tape types: The feeders primarily handle components packaged in tape and reel format, which is standard for most SMT components.
• Tape width variety: They are available in a wide range of widths to accommodate different component sizes, from standard 8mm tape up to wider tape sizes for larger parts.
• Pneumatic mechanism: While electric feeders gained popularity in later generations, many of the CP series feeders use a pneumatic (air pressure) mechanism to advance the component tape.
